@DJKham : you have some lovely steeds in your garage mate. Hats off to your passion for the Scrambler after 3 top of the line Ducs. I'm not sure if I would've wanted one if I had these kind of beauties in my stable. Is it that different from the others?

@outofthebox: I can see where you are coming from and to be honest, there is probably some cross-over with the other bikes, but here's how the Scrambler makes sense for me:

-The Streetfighter (nicknamed "Satan's Chariot") is a raw, unruly machine that can't be ridden legally anywhere around major cities due to its gearing and the motor's torque curve. It's amazing for week end trips when it gets trailered to where it can actually stretch its legs (back roads or track) and is the bike that pushes me to become a better rider.

-The Diavel has been an incredible machine and it does overlap somewhat with the Streetfighter in that it makes huge power and is an absolute blast on the open road (less so on the track). This bike can eat up mileage (while putting a huge smile on your face) better than anything I've ever ridden. This is the bike I will be trading in for the Scrambler, after over 12K very thrilling miles and I will miss it.

-The Monster is my wife's bike and is the most versatile of the whole stable. She's ridden it from Toronto, Canada to Boothbay Harbor, Maine and back and it's as comfortable doing that as it is getting her to-from work. I can't praise it enough. Problem is, we can't both ride it ;)

-That leaves the good'ol Honda CM400. She's my mount on days like today to do the 10 mile trek to the office and back. Odometer had over 35K miles in it when I rescued her from the wreckers and put in the elbow grease to get her to where she is today. Great for "milk runs" but I've tried taking her on the open road and it's just not fair to expect her to perform there, especially when trying to keep pace with more modern bikes.

So, the Scrambler is my answer to split the difference between the Monster and the Honda. A bike I can ride with my wife without feeling like I'm lugging the motor and that is more verstaile than the hellian Streetfighter for day-to-day riding/not getting arrested.

From what everyone on this forum is saying, that's exactly where it can fit so I'm excited to finally take delivery of it.
