Paint is paint.

If it's a standard gloss finish it's a doddle to keep clean, clean it with a vehicle shampoo, rinse it off, dry it off with a microfibre cloth and use a proprietary vehicle polish to shine it up. Some people think black shows up the dirt more, I don't think so but you pays your money you takes your choice.

As above for metallic finish's.

If it's a matt finish I wouldn't go anywhere near it. I had a matt finish on a Street Triple R I had and it was horrible, it never seems to look any better when you clean it.

If it's a flip paint I have no idea, don't like it.

Jerrys got that right paint is paint.

Dont even get me started with matte paint. Its not worth living with trust me. You cannot do swirl corrections or even buff it at all. And when the paint chips just leave it. You cant treat it like conventional gloss paints without damaging it.

I have pastel black on my car, and it has to been cleaned once a week to look nice.

I have good cleaning company 100 meters from supermarket and they were taking care of car during shopping.

If you cannot find time to keep it clean I would not go for black.

I've had both:

- High gloss black on my HD Nightster: ended up full of scratches from road debris; you could really see them too, not my favourite color! (and I looked after very well)

- Matt black on my HD Street Bob: a breeze to keep well - I bought the HD Denim Paint Cleaner which is just a spray like those "quick wax" things as far as I can tell - you just spray the bike, dry with a microfibre and voilá! No swirls, no dust, no nothing... hardly ever needed to wash the bike - only really when I rode in wet weather, etc. Never had a scratch, and best of all, I could easily match other parts of the bike with plastidip and got the factory look! :)

I'm getting the Urban Endure which is matt green - hopefully just as easy to maintain!

To be honest I am not a clean freak about bikes but I will using this bike for commuting 5 days a week 12 months a year so I don’t want a bike that looks like crap after about 3 years. I only wash my current bike once a month and then a bit of AF50 to keep the elements at bay. It’s really more about the long term maintenance and durability of this particular finish. I not even sure if it is matte or a satin finish as I haven’t seen it in the flesh yet. In fact I am not even sure what the real difference is between satin and matte is.
