I have a UE on order and I was looking through videos on Youtube and happened upon this video that shows what my bike is going to look like coming out of the box.

From the look of it, I can do all of this by myself, so I wonder if they will just sell me the crated bike.

Unlikely for 2 reasons:

1) much like your first service, it's required of the dealers by Ducati for warranty purposes

2) they make really high margin on it

I posted this on another thread but it's worth mentioning: the air pressure in my tires was at 50 PSI (should be 32f, 34r) when I picked it up from the PDI that I paid hundreds of dollars for. Make sure you give your bike your own once-over for similar blunders from your dealer.
