Hi all. So I am waiting for my classic. I want to change the orange paint to something else. I am leaning towards black satin which would have the same care and concerns as matte black.
BUT THEN...I recently, today, restumbled onto the bike that was custom redone by Officine Mermaid. they call it 'scratch'. They scraped away the pain and left it metal-look. Bare metal, I don't know. Thats where I need somehlp and or thought on. I wonder if any of you fine folk know what and or how the tank would need to be treated if it was taken down to bare metal. I think it is a really sweet look and would even consider, down the road, changing the leather to match the blu-ish green, greenish-blue leather they have on their bike. That's probably the only things I would do except maybe add a crossbar at some point.
Anyone have any ideas how bare metal would hold up. Wonder if they clear-coated the metal. Your ideas are welcome and appreciated. Yes, I'm a copy-cat;)

JWA, thanks for your input, I appreciate it. I was thinking the same thing only I was guessing. I want to walk into the paint shop with a little knowledge so I am doing a little research tonight on it.
BTW...have you seen what that looks like with a satin clear coat on bare metal? Does it llok like the images I uploaded? THX
