Hey Scramblers,
As I was searching a way to fix our butt's nightmare I've bumped into this product.
http://www.luimoto.com/?p=397
Even Scrambler is not listed into their "installable list" yet, I beleive that the shape of our seats should not cause any problems on installing this gel.
Here is the video of the installation:

I don't think that any of us tried this yet but if some of you guys did please comment about your experience.
What do you think? Would that work?

Saw the video. They cut out a layer of foam in the 'business area' and replace it flush with a layer of Luimoto gel. The premise being that a 1/4" layer of the Luimoto gel provides cushioning than the original foam.

At least in the Icon seat, the discomfort is more because of the weird slope and contour closer to the tank. While the Gel layer might provide some comfort but the real issue is with the narrowness and the contour, both of which will remain unaddressed if one goes for this solution.

Oh, and the process of adding the Gel layer is labour intensive for sure and definitely not for those who got a C in their Arts & Craft class. (Yours truly is one of them) ;)

I've added a gel insert and extra padding to mine and it did help some. I can go about 50 miles now before I have to take a break. Outofthebox is correct that the seat needs a major redesign before it will be suitable for longer rides. I'm very hopeful the Seat Concepts seat when it comes out will solve the problem. I've heard great things about them and the fact that one of the owners purchased an Icon should mean he took the time to make it right. It should be available soon.

I ordered the seat concepts yesterday. Going on my Urban Enduro. I'll be sending the original brown cover to SC for a color match. Will try the black until a suitable brown is stitched up.The stock seat is murder.
Awesome. Please keep us posted regarding your experience with the SC seat. It looks like the most attractive solution to me because it still looks good and I keep hearing good things about SC.

I am giving it a try.
Doing the Nor Cal Gypsy Tour. It is 200 to 300 miles per Day. Starting this Friday ending Monday. Some of the best roads in Northern California.
I was able to take the hump out and flatten the seating area.

Hope it works.
