Has anyone fitted the Classic aluminium mudguards (aluminum fenders) yet?
The pics on the Ducati website don't show whether a full mounting kit is provided. I assume the front one at least has different mountings, and the rear one would need a number plate bracket too?

Just thinking of what to spend the money saved by buying the Icon on while waiting for it to arrive!

I'm sure anything can be done at the bike shop for a price.

no bracket for the front, this I know; incorporates the system already on the forks. the classic front guard uses the same bracket system as the Enduro full fork guards that come along with high mudguard set-up... ordered for my icon.

I purchased the classic fender set but haven't installed them yet. It includes the fenders, all the required mounting hardware (front fender brackets, bolts, screws, reflectors ect..) The rear fender mount has the plate mount with it as well.

Got them on, was a bit of a challenge. The giant bag of hardware I assumed had everything, didn't. It had everything to install the rear fender without using any of your original bolts, it did not have any hardware to install the front fender which the dealer told me is typical of other fenders Ducati sells. I was able to use the bolt clips provided to hold the under plastic from the rear fender for the front one temporarily. Also it only came with the Euro spec plate holder, so you'll either need to modify your original one, or find another way to mount your US plate. I drilled holes in my plate and mounted it where the reflector should mount. I used some plastic spacers and a bolt on the bottom to give it a slight tilt. Beyond that, it was straight forward for the most part. The under metal frame was a bit out of wack so it took some pushing and pulling to get all the holes to line up.

Anyhow, included some pictures. Enjoy!

Did you paint, powdercoat or plastic dip the fenders? I´m looking to get them myself because the evotech tailtidy is a bit too close to the wheel when I hit a hump at speed but I dont think the metal color will suit my red Icon.

I am too planning to put classic front n rear mudguard on my Icon. How much did the set cost? Dealers here in India still unsure of price of accessories?

They are powdercoated. Depends on your overall color scheme as far as matching, I already have the black side panels and such so I feel black was the way to go.

Cost was $349 USD, which for the amount of stuff included and compared to prices of some of the other accessories it was a good value.

Thanks again MNT.
Was the wiring for the number plate light fairly straightforward? Did yo u reroute it from the swinging arm mount or is there wiring already in place under the seat?

I already had it re-routed. I had the Evotech tidy tail installed prior to the change. When you take the stock mount off you'll remove the plate light wiring as well. It's a few clips held by little bolts and plugs in on the other side of the bike. At the point you are re-installing it you can either just plug it in and not cut any of the zip ties and route it up and under or cut the zip ties and move the other side of the harness where it plugs in out of sight as well.

Mudguards have arrived, all the mounts are also included but no fitting instructions. Can't decide now whether to do the powdercoating, they look so good in naked aluminium :| maybe fit first and see if that looks good:)
Need to get a new numberplate as the holes are different to the evotech.
