I had a meeting a couple minutes away from the dealer yesterday so I popped in to see if I could get any updated info from them about when delivery would happen. He said they can't be 100% certain, but it looks like the first week in April for the first shipment which is in Denver, CO. That works out well considering my birthday is the first weekend in April :)

Interestingly he said the demand has been overwhelming, and they've already sold 28 Scramblers!!! He said that is the most they have ever presold of a motorcycle ever and the next closest bike was the 1098 which they only sold 18 of when it came out. He confirmed my position in line to pick up the bike - number 1 ;)

Yeah, I saw the optimistic thread about the bikes being on a boat to the US and that they'd be here mid-late March, but my dealer said they still have the same mid-ish April time frame from Ducati. He pointed out that even if they did get to US shores in late March, they still have to go through customs and then get shipped to actual dealerships.

So while I was excited to hear they might be here sooner, I'm still expecting April 15th as my ESTIMATED delivery.

Yeah, I was pretty skeptical when she told me those dates. I tried to argue that my dealer still says Mid April and had not yet heard anything to the contrary. She kept saying "I assure you that some US Dealers will have Scramblers by 3rd week of March". So I really hope she is correct and my assumptions are wrong. I'm still planning in my head for it to arrive Mid April, but if it comes early, I won't complain.

That's great to hear-- I had to cancel my order because we're moving out-of-state...
hopefully the waiting list for a Urban Enduro won't be too long when I get to North Carolina! :|
Man that's a bummer I was looking forward to our Rocky Mountain Scrambler meetup group!

I stopped by my dealer today as well to pick up a helmet. He verified that the bikes have left Italy and are headed for the US by sea. Since they are a new line US Customs will have to uncrate and inspect at least one before any are released. That can go fast or slow. Then they have to be shipped to California. He has ten pre-sold units coming in this first batch, one of which is mine. Four or five weeks, give or take.
