It's worth it to lube your chain with wax. I've got nearly 20k miles on a DID O-ring chain on my Kawasaki with no shark toothing of the sprockets. It all looks nearly new and the chain hasn't stretched since 2003 when I put it on. I pretty much the same thing using WD40 to clean it and I've been using Motul street chain lube (spray on wax.)
