Does anyone have a light switch on their bike that allows to turn the lights on and keep the LED only. Euro bikes should have this but I believe my bike is Euro spec but doesn't have the option.
If you do have the option, what switch has the on-off, right or left?

On my USA spec, the LED lights come on alone with key-on before you press the starter button. They also light up as parking lights when you turn the bars and turn the key all the way left and activate them.

Key on, but not started:

When I first got my bike, I thought it'd be really cool to roll around with just the LED on. After looking at it several times in daylight, compared to the low beam it's not very visible to oncoming traffic. Yes you can see it, but it's mostly cosmetic. If you turned off the low beam, I think you'd be giving up quite a bit of visibility (safety).

I can't believe they got away with DOT laws in the USA not having the turn signals have running lights in them. I think it's cool in that danger sort of way, but yeah, you can't even see the white LEDs with the headlight on. They're not as bright as the ones you see on luxury cars.

You'll need a separate switch. Smaller and simpler bikes in Singapore often have this mod done to save the battery when starting.... not needed so much now we have smart relays that turn off the headlight when the engine is off.

The switch mod's I've seen are usually just a DPDT rocker switch buried somewhere behind the headlight shell where the local authorities won't see it.

What we need is for someone to make replacement LED lights that are bright enough to use as DRLs and a switch for the headlight.
Then we could ride around with our cool 4-light DRL and still be safe!

I'm sure some company in China will come up with a solution soon.

The headlamp, both low and main beams, is controlled by the dash. The only way to turn the low beam off would be to fit a switch in the white wire between the dash and the headlamp bulb. A single pole switch is all that would be needed. Something like this:

Not a bit fugly, they are downright fugly. :)

I see what you mean now, that might require a bit of headlamp surgery.

But let's wait and see what people come up with.
