I'm going for a ride from Brisbane Southside through Fernvale and over Mt Glorious on Saturday early afternoon. Not looking for a race just a easy afternoon ride after an early morning start,

Anyone interested, let me know, reasonably flexible on start time, around 12 or 1 by preference.

Greg, I'm in for that, I pretty much do Mt Glorious every Sunday so know the road pretty well, go too fast sometimes so I'll just follow along, Whichever time suits you, I'm easy but I'll suggest a meeting place at Progress road and maybe a coffee stop at Fernvale bakery. Progress Rd stop, basically turn left from Ipswich motorway into Progress Rd then stop on the right as soon as you can, or go to the lights, do a uturn and stop on the left.

I wanted to try all configurations - rode it home and first 50 or so kms on stock pipes, then I installed the termi but wanted to try with the baffle, then tried without the baffle...

The baffle is pretty hard to remove (and will be to replace) as it's a very tight fit. With the baffle there's a little sound that is as if there's air leaking though the baffle gaps or something - reminds me of a VW Beatle air cooled engine. Without the baffle it sounds like an axe murderer!

It was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon and good to share info with another Scrambler owner, thanks for the invite Smifff, looking forward to doing it again in the future. Photo turned out alright, shows how different the Termi actually looks. I took more notice of the sound of your bike after we left the servo and it is a little loud but not annoyingly loud like some bikes, doubt you'll have any trouble leaving the baffle out.

Feli, my bikes pretty well bog stock, haven't really done anything to it yet except lower the tyre pressure and soften the rear preload a notch. I'm happy with the way it rides and handles now. No definite mods planned, small saddlebags would be handy and I do like the look of the Full Throttle Termi but I'm too much of a tightarse to pay Ducati prices. If it sounds good I could be tempted by a used one when people start replacing them with something louder.

Thanks Doc,

It was a great way to spend an afternoon, I'm pretty clear for most Saturday afternoons so happy to go again and an open invite to any other Brisbane riders.

Thanks also for the feedback on the sound of the pipe too, I think the sound reflects off the trees and makes it sound louder than it is. Happy that you reckon it's ok, I was concerned that it might have been annoying.

Feli,

"With the baffle there's a little sound that is as if there's air leaking though the baffle gaps or something - reminds me of a VW Beatle air cooled engine."

Good description, I thought it sounded like a compressor with an air leak, not good, baffle lasted about 2 minutes.

"Without the baffle it sounds like an axe murderer!"

That made me laugh, but I agree.

There must be a few more Brisbane riders now, post a ride invite and lets go.

I'm not sure there are many more riders in Brisbane with their scrambler... When I got mine a couple of weeks go it was only the 4th delivery they said. Frank has his ready once his cast comes off, and Doc and maybe a few others got theirs from the Gold Coast dealer. I think there's gotta be less than 10 all up delivered so far.

and again

Bit of a leap of faith weather wise but I'm good to go again this Saturday, time is flexible after 10.00 am, happy to rerun Glorious or if someone has a better idea,

Does anyone use this site for ideas?

I've done a couple of rides into Northern New South Wales that I found on this site, great rides and a really useful site,

I'm out for this Saturday, but usually free anytime for a ride.

First time I've seen that site, looks helpful, I've done most of the rides on it over the years on various bikes.

Problem with decent rides from my area is the boring/traffic bits getting to them if you like curves, think thats why mates and I usually head to Glorious, its the closest for a quick few hour ride. Agree there's great rides further south, Gold Coast hinterland, Lions Rd, Border ranges to name a few. Also North, Mt Mee area is really good. Think all of these are on the site you linked.

Feli, mine was the first picked up from Nerang but you're probably right, there aren't that many of us.

In case anyone near is interested, Ducati Gold Coast (Nerang) had a demo Scrambler there when I got my first service, even had an unbaffled Termi on it.

Looks like heavy rain is forecasted for Saturday now...

I agree Mt Mee area is awesome, and up to Maleny - especially the section form Maleny to Kenilworth and the loop through the back! Heading South, there's plenty of great stuff from the back of Mt Tamborine / Canungra, all the way down to Nimbin (I hate stopping there though).

I don't really enjoy Mt Glorious to be honest - too many cars crossing the centre lines, d!ckhead sports bikes doing the same, cops lingo you for going 3km/h over the limit down a hill, and worst of all, ignorant residents who throw gravel on some corners to slow people down.

I do like going up there to head down towards Samford and from there to Mt Mee, Woodford, and up to Maleny or whatever...

I saw on Brisbane Motorcycles Facebook today that they delivered another 2 yellow icons this week.
