Hi.
After some advanced trail riding with the Italian beast a few bits and pieces aren't exactly in mint condition anymore. Amongst other things the rear brake switch.
During some wild bouncing around I must have, probably very gently
, hit a boulder or log or something else causing the brake pedal ending up off center.
Initially no worries, that was until my fellow rider asked me why I was braking all the time (,which I wasn't).
At home inspecting the lever and switch I discovered that the lever actually had forced the pin off the switch to bottom inside the housing. The pin was now instead of riding on top of the spring plunged right through it.
Managed to pull it out again but damaging the rubber seal.
The pedal should stop on the switch bracket, but while being off center and the bracket being made of soft material, the complete bracket had become misaligned letting the pedal push the switch pin with full force.
Bracket has been forced back into position, lever realigned, everything is working but the switch needs to be replaced.
Looks like they made som sort of "update" together with the hydraulic clutch, changing the switch to something worse (I have the updated rectangular switch).
Does anyone know why it needs three wires, does it use dual channel NO/NC for the brake light?
Anyone replaced this switch with an aftermarket unit for better durability?
