While still not confirming engine displacement Ducati did confirm that the Scrambler will be making use of one of their smaller air cooled V-Twins. My best is the Monster 696's considering low cost production is already in place.

The M.O seems to be no frills, basic and low cost with a real focus on being fun and approachable for new riders while all coming across with a slight hip tinge with a dab of surf culture tossed in. Not only did Ducati build a beach at Borgo Panigale for the sneak peak, they are on Tumblr after all ;)

Rubber seems to be of the flat track style and you can see the massive cooling fins on the air head Twin. The LED halo setup will contrast well with the retro inspried two tone sleek metallic tank. Thats the type of dichotomy only Italian style can provide....

Looks good. Are these just stills from the video that was posted early?

From what you can tell here, it looks really nice in terms of design. it looks like they were able to keep things simple while also making it look like a high end Ducati. I wonder when we will get to see the thing in broad daylight. Or at least in some spy shots with less camo.

The guy sitting on it almost look like a mannequin. Seems to me that the tail end might get a longer fender in the end (most bikes do.)

Also looks like there will be some yellow in the design or offered as a color choice which is pretty cool.

I really hope that we get to see the Scrambler race when the time comes.
