So today was a lovely day in South UK with temperatures around 17-18 Celsius and roaring sun.

Went out for a rather long run today and noticed through my rather thick motorcycle jeans I got a nice hot feeling between my legs. I expected this particularly when doing stop starts in London, but was surprised that it keeps a rather high "ball temperature" even when getting it up at higher speeds and roaring around.

It would be interesting to see how you all are finding the seat heat in general because I believe it will be rather unpleasant come summer.

What do you think?

Yeah, I'm riding in Thailand where it is HOT right now. Engine heat is quite insane. I was gong to ask the same question of riders... How are you finding the heat from the engine?
Long stops at traffic lights can be almost intolerable.

The Monster 796 roasts my inner thighs too. Always wondered if that would be a good enough excuse for a cop if I got pulled over - just trying to keep cool sir I promise!

Oh dear, this is worrying. I do intend to ride the bike in summers too. I wonder why this critical issue was not highlighted by any of the professional reviewers?

ehm.... it's a scrambler.... a "basic" bike.... can't ask for GT confort.

I rode on highway on tue., abt 40 km...... at 120/130 km/h...... at 9° C...... I'm still frozen..... the quantity of cold and air pressure hitting me.... was the nearest thing to the **** >:D>:D ...... ,

in the same condition on my RT switch on the cruise control, open the visor and playing music.... for hose whom do, you can even smoke.... :nerd::nerd:

at those temperatures no issues mate. but some of us live in places where ambient temperatures can hit high 40s (104 degrees for our American friends) and many of us would still like to be able to procreate, our love for riding notwithstanding.

Maybe attach reflective heat material to underside of seat? Never owned a big capacity air cooled bike before and a bit surprised the heat is that bad in 18c as I like to do longer rides.

Standing on the pegs is hardly a solution as look stupid doing that on normal roads/ fast roads for more than a few seconds

well in summer in Italy we have 30/35° but what I wanted to underline is that cold or warm the confort always is limited....

my above rode was really UNCONFORTABLE :crying::crying: no more highway for me on scrambler

I had a Monster 620, then a Monster 1100 and now a Scrambler... and the engine architecture is always the same! So, i don't think i will have hot temperature problem.
Maybe you never had a Ducati Air Cooled Motorcycle before, it isn't?

@Hedonism, @basilisco,

This is of course an air cooled naked bike so comfort will always be limited. I know that very well - I ride a 500c air-cooled naked myself and I fully agree with your comments. But the thread starter and our friend from Thailand have shared that the Scrambler seat is, or it might get unbearably hot & almost unridable during summer & traffic start stop conditions.

I know temperature tolerance is very subjective but I'm a bit alarmed because of those remarks rather than anything else given that this is a new bike design even if the engine setup is tried and tested in other Ducati models.

I did about 25 mins on fast road at around 75 mph in 5 C on test ride and did not feel that cold. Depends on how good your gear is and how well your body can fight the cold....

Changing the phrase "Balls to the wall" to mean taking them out and placing them on something cold to cool them off.

I look forward to some heat. I'm usually cold when I'm riding because I mostly ride at night after work and after city traffic has settled down.

My airhead makes my ankles warm, so people would probably still complain about a boxer. Even worse is when the carbs flood and fill your boots with gasoline.

I don't know what to say!
I have experienced with the Monster 1100 which is a very hot engine and also with a high exhaust with the catalyst in and i never had problem with excessive heat...i mean, it's very hot but not unbearable!
I can't image Ducati made a motorcycle with a problem like this...
If you ride an aircooled Ducati engine for the first time, the heat can get higher than other bikes...but i think it's a way of practice!
