Wanted to pick up the Airoh S4 touring helmet for myself, have been using a Lazer Open Face so far but feel the need to pick up a full face helmet.

Also peripheral vision is a little important for me as I will be doing a fair bit of street riding in Mumbai and the traffic is haphazard and traffic rules almost nonexistent. It is important to be able to feel bikes and cars next to me which the rear view mirror does not always cover hence the important of decent peripheral vision in a helmet. Was considering the Airoh S4, seemed alright. Any views guys?

Hi Azad,

rather you than me riding around Mumbai, I've been all over the world and never seen driving like India anywhere!

Airoh helmets are ok, they're not an Arai or a Shoei but that's not the point, they're a reasonable budget helmet. I'm assuming the Airoh's available in India are the same as those in Europe.

Hi Azad, I live in Mumbai too and have been using an AGV and an Airoh S4 for a while. While the S4 is no AGV, it does the job. I do like to wear my sunglasses with the helmet and this has posed no problems whatsoever.

I know that you have zeroed on one of the two available options for upright riding position, i.e, the Enduro/Motocross style but I would still recommend you to look at one Sports/Tourer type - the Schuberth S2. It's got the widest peripheral vision range I've seen in comparable helmets plus a city riding mode which provides some ventilation in low speed situations.

The other 'king of peripheral vision' is of course the Bell Bullitt which seems to be the weapon of choice of many here on this forum. I'm contemplating to buy one too as soon as I make some space on my helmet shelf.

I as well wear glasses and opted for the Schuberth C3. Works perfectly. Great vision, good seal around the neck but good ventilation as well. Build in sun visor as well helpful. Could not be more happy here in Bangkok.
Only some hissing sound at around 100km/h when turning the head.
Assume it comes from the open vents.

Yeah I forgot to mention that I wear big old plastic frame glasses and they fit inside the Schuberth C3 just fine. Also, the best part: You can take the helmet on and off without having to take your glasses off. The modular helmet has made the whole full-face ritual much more bearable.
