A good few people have now purchased lovely shiny new exhausts and presumably these come with no remapping (upmap) to the ECU unlike the Termi.

For those of you that have gone this route have you noticed any detrimental running issues, ie surging rough running and if you had your chance again would you chose an aftermarket exhaust again.

I only ask as I am just about to purchase one myself.

Any feed back would be gratefully received.

I Cant believe no one on here has not fitted an after market exhaust other than a Termi Someone must have some advice.

I've posted all kinds of stuff about termi & stock diagnostics but would also be very interested to hear some honest testimonials from people running JUST a slip on (non-Termi).

At least not on this forum, might be on some others, some facebook page/group or even someone that has posted to youtube.

But yeah with the amount of these already in the hands of owners.... it would have been expected.

Off the top of my head I can think of several people on this forum who have installed non-termi aftermarket exhausts. Unfortunately, sometimes requests don't always get the expected or hoped for response. It might in part be because not everyone can monitor the board as frequently as some others. I've asked questions before and got nothing but crickets.......it happens. I'm sure that if this thread gets bumped enough though, you'll get some responses.

I'm looking hard at the ZARD special edition high mount in black. Haven't pulled the trigger yet, but I'm inching closer to doing so.
Thanks all, a little disappointed no one has responded who has fitted an aftermarket slip on.

Like Vibration I will be looking to place my order tomorrow for the HP Corsa Hydroform slip on I will keep you posted.

Thanks to all that responded.

I've fitted an aftermarket slip on not designed for the scrambler, basically a straight pipe to a muffler.

It sounds awesome and hasn't effected the running apart from heavy popping and the occasional flame out the exhaust. Removing the SAS greatly reduced it though (see my other thread for the how to)

I can't feel any performance gains but it feels like a proper motorcycle now.

Ive got a Shift Tech on for 800 miles now with no problems.
When I had my 1st service I asked tech if it was worth getting a re-map, he said if I have had no problems he wouldn't mess with it. He said I might get a few hp bump with re-map but thats about it.

I had my stock exhaust and cat removed.. Replaced with a custom slip on exhaust. My observations thus far.. The sound is so much better. Just sounds right. Grunt and gurgles while idle and great hum during throttle. Occasionally deceleration pop, but nothing like the backfire of a VW Beetle. No more jerky throttle on 1st or 2nd gear. RPM rockets up so smoothly and quickly, almost too fast that i kind of feel some torque is gone. But i can't confirm unless i put it on a dyno. Fuel efficiency is roughly the same. My only complaint was the noise required me to wear ear plugs while riding. It turns out tgat yhe exhaust noise isn't that loud, it was because i switched from a full face helmet to a Shark Raw (essentially an open face helmet). So at speeds above 60km per hour the wind noise in the Shark becomes a bother. All in all i have zero regrets.

Well, this is the first time I have seen this thread. I've had the Remus without CAT on for a few hundred km now. I've had no problems, seems slightly smoother to me in low gears and sounds way better. No major difference in popping frequency but you definitely notice it more as it's louder and has so much more of a bass note.

Well all, many thanks for your feed back I am now convinced that all will be fine as I am now going to order the HP Corse Hydroform in September.

Cheers all
