Well folks,

I completely love the Scrambler. That said, I have a second bike (2013 victory vegas 8ball). I use for long jaunts on the highway and weekend bar hopping. Anyways, got the bug recently to potentially trade it in.

So first up was the Indian Scout. Wow, what a bike. The Scout is everything the Scrambler is, but for the Cruiser community. Powerful engine, superb handling, great fit and finish.

I'm really thinking hard about this one. What to do you folks think? Ohh, what I am looking for? A Cruiser that can perform on the backroads and the occasional weekend trip.

Here is the video of my first ride impressions of the Scout.

I've had some stints with cruisers but they just aren't for me. I love my Multistrada for the long rides. Big and comfy, hauls the wife and enough gear, handles awesome and the motor is bonkers.
I almost went that route. I also love the multi. That said, for now.. I am into cruisers.

Im also not a cruiser fan but that said whatever you choose it should be different enough than the scrambler that you will enjoy both for what they are. The scout looks nice.

I got the Scrambler as the anti 800GS. I just went back to it for a bit while I was having some seat work done on the Scrambler. you know what ? It's a pretty good bike and it was great to be riding it again. It is a perfect opposite. I'm 6-1, thus raising the seat mod on the Scrambler. there was an immense ergonomic joy being back on the GS !! Anyway : I'm lucky to have two such entirely different bikes that I can love Almost equally. ( hey, It's a Ducati Forum: I do love the Scrambler a bit more ! )

I agree about Scrambler kicking butt. Its a great bike and for its purpose its at the top of its class. That said, Im still a sucker for torquey performance cruiser. Anyways, I'm still cruiser shopping.

My next bike will probably be a new generation Indian Scout. I agree completely with the scrambler analogy. All the reviews are great, and it's the first cruiser that has "moved" me. I hope I can find a gently used '15 or '16 in five years or so.

After subscribing to CycleCruza's youtube channel, I would really like a supersport as a second bike. At this time, my choices would be an '09 or newer CBR600RR or 675 Daytona.

That being said, I really like the Diavel and it's potential for being a sport-cruiser-touring bike, e.g. The Diavel Strada, which Ductati discontinued in 2014.

My buddy got jealous after I brought home by red Icon, and he went out a week later and bought an 09 CBR600RR. Seems like a great bike...until a guy on a yellow CBR900RR flew past us while riding one day!

I saw my first scout out in the wild this weekend and it looked OK. Totally not my thing though. I'm too small to look OK on a Vegas or the Scout. My Scrambler is my 'cruiser' because I feel like I'm sitting down in it compared to my other bikes. I can't do forward controls. It doesn't feel secure to me, at least on the Harleys I've ridden. The only cruisers I could ever see myself on are Sportsters with standard footpeg position. I'm too used to dirt bike and standard riding position. And after owning the Scrambler, that's probably off the table because a Sporty would feel so slow and outdated.

I love the sound of the Scout. Not that unlike the Scrambler honestly. I like hearing the cam noises blended with the exhaust noises.

What stuff about the Vegas do you like better than the Scout?

I can see what you mean about the "foot displacement" issues. I've always owned two bikes. One cruiser (normally- foot forward), and a naked bike of some sorts ( standard or rear foot position). That said, every time I switch bikes, it takes me a minute or two to adjust. I personally enjoy both riding positions. For me, both have pros and cons.

Regarding, the Vegas- the riding position is very comfortable. It handles great, the engine is torquey, and the overall fit and finish is spot on. Here is my review of the Vegas.

So all things considered, I have no logical reason to get rid of my Vegas. However, motorcycles have never been about logic for me. I guess after two years, I'm just looking to change things a bit.

The Vegas is a true bar hopper,, that can be converted to be a long distance tourer, and the Scout is more about performance and handling.

I like that you can see the love of both cruisers and standards since I don't know many people who can. I am guessing more scrambler riders prefer sport bikes than cruisers. I should ride more cruisers just to see if I ever find one that fits me well. The last Victory I rode was a 2001 V92SC and I felt like a monkey humping a rather large football.
