I'm on intermission from a rather long (40000+miles and counting) trip on a Panigale. I'm back in the US and I've got a Scrambler for the next 6 days and I'll doing a pretty awesome (I hope) road trip: Death Valley, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, SF. I'll post a full ride report when I return with all the details, but if anyone wants to follow along in real-time, I'm dennis_matson on Instagram. Or those without IG can follow along online: https://instagram.com/dennis_matson/

And if anyone wants to hyperlink IG pictures to this thread, URLs from IG can be copied from HERE.

Do let us know what kind of packing/gear you used to lug around your stuff.
Am doing 1800 mile trip myself in a months time, so would be interesting to know what type of packing you used.
Thanks everyone!

Because the thread will be more than pictures (and involve a lot of discussion), I'm going to slip on over to General Discussion to kick this off.

As for gear/packing--a Kriega US-10 bag is what I used, along with a backpack. I have a magnetic tank bag that slipped on nicely, but I just didn't need the extra space. I could have gone with just the backpack, but I was heading into Death Valley and wanted to carry extra gas (MSR makes good fuel cans that don't leak - .8 liter x 3). Also carried along a spare tire in a can, just in case.
