Very possible, haven't seen any spy shots about it, this is quite possibly the very first.

So we aren't for sure that this is the Scrambler? Do any of the blogs know what it is? How can we tell its the Scrambler?

So far it seems it's just speculation that this is a Scrambler, it does seem to look like a scrambler, just a really modern version, maybe a bit too modern for my liking.

I am thinking the same it has too much of a modern look to it already. I thought it would of turned out differently holding its classic design somewhat.

The travesty, imagine the gall of Ducati to produce a modern bike that looks modern. What were you guys expecting Ducati to just begin reproducing the old 60's Scrambler...

all the blogs think its a scrambler..

It's what has me disappointed with this spied model. I just hope it's a test mule. either way it should look good, but probably far from looking anything like the classic scrambler.

Its what happens when you bring retro into the contemporary....




What could ducati do retrograde motorcycle construction to appease period correctness? look at that old scrambler, it has no semblance of a modern suspension system, it doesn't even have a swing arm. We can complain all we want it doesnt look like the 70's but would you really want to ride or buy a modern bike built exactly the same as a 70's bike? I wouldn't, too much has changed tech wise...

besides look at the other recent Retro to Redone looks:








Similar yes, but not the same. Besides thats just a test mule, we know things never make it from dev to production unchanged.

I think that there is no denying that there is a trend towards bringing together retro and modern styling. It will be cool to see what elements of the old Scrambler will stay and which elements will change to be more modernized. It is a delicate balance between the two styles.

So far the spy shots don't seem to promising with looking retro, but it is just the test mule. I have a feeling they will just go right to a completely modern look.
