Prep, Doc and Freight in Southern CA

Hi All,

I'm trying to get an idea of what people are paying for prep, doc and freight in Southern CA on Scramblers. I'm seeing total fees range from $1375 to $1775. Does that jive with those of you that have made a purchase in the area?

Thanks!

Does that include tax, license, and registration? You should break out the specific charges to get a better understanding.

It does not include tax. The fee range I listed is for prep, doc and freight.

Here in the North East I paid 400 freight and the doc charge was 200 but didn't have to pay as I was from NY and bought it in MA. No separate set up charge. Most excellent dealer. Wagner Motorsports International in Worcester, MA.

I was charged $525 freight and $499 setup fee plus taxes, title and registration. All told, my bike came out to a total of $10,726

It seems Socal Ducati shops may have some of the highest fees for freight and setup. I guess it's the price you pay for year-round riding weather.

Yeah, that's the sunshine premium. I paid nearly $1500 for freight, prep, and all documents in LA. Plus the 9% sales tax. Ouch.

Not my circus. Not my monkeys.

Why is this thread showing up as a HTML listing? MSRP total paid, delivered to house, + state taxes, New England.

It's a computer code glitch. Probably some sort of weird text characters somewhere are screwing up the code that controls the look of the forum.

Do these fees come from every dealership including official ducati dealerships? I live in Michigan and when i went to speak to the dealer at ducati i was told the price of the bike with the addons i wanted and how much my monthly payment would be. After the dealer told me the price he said the words "This will be your final cost with no other charges or hidden fees, this number is what you're going to pay". I really hope when i go to do the paper work he doesn't tell me i have to pay these extra fees because i wont be okay with that.
