Cool I got one!

To answer my own question: it is nearly impossible to get a Ducati Scrambler Italia Independent in Australia.

I was exceptionally lucky. Today I drove over an hour to a Ducati dealership. I was going to enquire about the Italia Independent, but I was quite ready to buy another Scrambler of some sort. I was quite amazed to see an Italia Independent on the floor as soon as I walked in.

To cut a long story short, the person who was going to buy it didn't. Ducati was asking for it back because there are people waiting to buy them. If I hadn't gone in to that dealership (there was another one I could have gone to instead) today, I would have missed out.

I bought it and pick it up on Tuesday.

Can't see it selling quickly up here...but what would I know...
Surely cheaper to make your own.
I'll call in and have a look if I go past.

According to the dealer I spoke to today, only 20 (or 25?) of these bikes made it to Australia. Is there any way to confirm that?

Sorry but there was zero sarcasm in my post. I was genuinely curious as to what the problem was as I saw the thread on the side under "Recent Discussions" and didn't see that it's specifically about the Italia Independent model. To notice that I'd have to look at the thread breadcrumbs when posting just under the head navigation which are a long line of text, written in tiny font, gray on gray. You didn't mention it in the title or post itself at all. It was really not obvious imho.

Instead of clarifying it, you instead used sarcam and sounded a bit like a prima donna.

But I am glad that you got the bike you wanted as apparently that one is not so easy to come by. Can't just walk into a dealer, give them cash, get the bike. Oh wait... that's exactly what you did? Life is funny

Anyways, enjoy the ride and maybe post a pic or two if you got the chance. Cheers!

I paid $20,700. Yep, it is a lot, but this is a special bike!
