Key won't turn to ON position

Hey hey, I've had my 2015 scrambler new since day 1, love this bike. However the other night I left the key in the ignition in the OFF position overnight in the garage... I didn't think much of it, but when I woke up to turn it on as usual, I can't get the key to turn passed the OFF indicator. Feels like a mechanical jam. Called Ducati Assist, they inspected the bike and have no idea.

I also noticed the immobilizer LED is not flashing anymore on the dash (usually on when the bike is off).

Checked battery. Seems fine.

What the **** could be going on? Would love anyones advice - before I start putting oil/WD40 etc in the ignition barrell.

Thanks!

Vinny

Strange, I have left my key in the bike for months on end. No issues.

Stupid comment. Make sure you are not pushing the key down when you turn it. Second, make sure the steering lock is not under tension.

Thanks Moto Chief, good advice. Tried all the usual suspects, lock to lock, throttle on, throttle off, push the key in, dont push the key in, talk to the thing in Italian etc etc... haha

The same happened to me. Check your key to see if the very thin tip isn't broken.

Thanks guys, thin bit of the key is fine. Both keys the same... jiggling, lock to lock... all these physical tricks and still nothing. Getting towed to the shop today... will keep you posted!

Ok, so took the bike in this morning, the guys had a look and turned the key a few times rather aggressively. The bike flicked over to ON position... but at the same time a small, thin piece of plastic fell out. Looks like that was jamming the ignition.

Weird or what??
