Fuel Economy & Range?

The tank holds 3.57gal or 13.5L.

Anyone know what the fuel consumption is so we can calculate the range of the bike on a tank of gas?

Thanks,

Vik

I've heard about 125 miles, which would be similar to the Monster 796 with it's similar sized tank. I would hope for slightly better MPGs, with 12 less HP, but it's producing more torque at a lower RPM so it's still burning plenty of fuel throughout the rev range.

To me, this is the biggest negative about the bike, as well as the previous generation Monster.

Range 280 km or 175 miles

There has been a couple of official pictures of the LCD instrument showing a range of 280 km. Assuming a full tank, this is what the computer predicts.
Maybe not so in real life.

280 range = 20,7 km per liter

175 range = 49 MPG us

280 km seems like a fine range to me. That is a pretty long while that you can ride before having to refill your gas again. Nothing to be upset about.

Especially for a more casual bike, this range is definitely acceptable.

MCN also show an average MPG of 52. Meaning they calculate the 154 miles range as usable range with a 0.6 gallon (2,3 liter) reserve. Even better. The computer calculated range indication should make up for the missing fuel gauge. And there's a fuel low light.

Don't forget the MPG is UK not US. 13.5 Ltr is 2.97 UK Gallons so x 52 MPG = 154 miles total range including reserve.

Youre so right. I didnt spot the UK gallons making the conversion.
