I have always been getting at least 110 - 120 miles before the warning light comes on, 91 octane, mixed riding - slab, town, back roads. Just about to hit 600 miles, so all rpms have been under 6000. Yep, 80 mph about 5800 rpm.
The last fill-up was at 125-130 miles and the light had not come on. Since the M796 had me trained for 100 mile fill-ups, it made me happy but a bit nervous. Pretty thirsty tank. Unfortunately I didn't make a mental note of how many gallons.
Since I have been trying to follow the break in procedure and keep the rpm below 6000, I've been fairly light on the throttle at the stop lights to keep from going shift-shift-shift.
